I doubt they will have 10% rake.........and even if they do, I'm sure the structures will still remain [censored]. I just can't imagine Florida with decent tourneys as they are way behind the times here.

True that. But progress is often incremental. This is all encouraging, and I'm not going to complain any more until we see what develops ... and I encourage all of you to do the same and keep us updated in the first week of July with what you see throughout the state.
I think that this board is a unique and interesting grassroots experiment. We'll be able to get through to management in the cardrooms throughout the state with new developments really fast. Keep up the good work. |

there is no way they can spread 6-12. the new law to be says 5 max on any street except for no-limit.

I think the loophole mentioned is a "no limit" game where all the players agree to bet in $6 increments preflop and on the flop, and $12 on the turn and the river. Of course, that still means the $100 cap is in play, so new players have to sit down with 8BBs. Fun!

Like I said, it's family fun poker. But starting on 7/2 they will be allowed to spread STTs and MTTs with entry fees of up to $1000. And if the juice on the high-end tourneys is 10%, the industry standard, then we're talking AAA ball and not the FL rookie leagues. And, it will be nice to not worry (as much) about being cheated, robbed, or arrested. [/ QUOTE ] FYP. $100 max buy in X 10 hands = $1000. In theory, limit flop-game tournaments are capped at $800. |

most florida cardrooms have a limited opening time. so therefore the tournament structures are still gonna be bs. [/ QUOTE ] The new bills allows for different times of operation. It is still only 12 hours but they can be open any 12 hours in a day so it can be from 3pm to 3am. That way they could have a tournament at 7pm and have a much better structure that lasts up to 7 1/2 hours. I played and won the friday touney at JCKC this week and it lasted just under 2 1/2 hours for 70+ players. My single table home game lasts longer than that. I just don't think the limited time is why they have the quick stucture. It is because they can get away with it. If the people still come then the quicker they get it over with the more money they make. I only play them every once in a while because I don't get to play enough live games other wise. I will never play another FL tourament once the new games are here if the stuctures stay the same. |

I realized just now why the $5 per half hour table charge will be more profitable for the house: with the constant rebuying, there is NO WAY that they will get in the 40 or so hands that we're accustomed to. They have almost certainly tested & figured this out.
OTOH, it would be a great deal in a SH game or under the right circumstances. |

[/ QUOTE ] That's why at least a couple of the cardrooms are planning on limiting rebuys to if you go broke or at the beginning of a dealer shift. |
