Update 4/14/07

I played 50 sngs today and made $64. I'm really learning a lot and am able to improve my game.

I love the Poker Stars software. The custom table layout capabilities are AWESOME!! I am experimenting with different layouts. I am able to start a set with 9 tables on my large screen and one or two on my small screen. After I bust out of several and get down to 8 tables, I can put four on each monitor with ease. Also, I don't have to worry about tables popping up when I am trying to click on a button.

Around midnight, my Internet went out for about an hour. So, I wasn't able to get into PLO for a while. I almost started to write a program in Liberty Basic that could replay entire tourneys quickly and conveniently. (If you know about a program out there like that already, let me know and I won't even waste my time.) I started to work on my bio for sngicons, but my Internet came back up. I thought to myself, "I can play one table of PLO and still work on my bio." And that was the end of my bio. I accidentally sat down at a PLO8 table. I still won $8 on it before it died. I 4 tabled PLO for about 3 hours.

The first PLO high table I played at had a maniac to my right. He raised every hand and did continuation bets each street. I could envision my huge chip stack. I recited Annie Duke's advice for playing against a maniac. "Call more often. Raise less often. And seldom value bet." Unfortunately I probably gave him more than he gave me. Only once was I able to win big off of him. He drew to a low straight for an all in bet when it was obvious that I already had a higher straight. LOL He won big in that game though. He left the table after he dropped $50 from his $189 high. My other PLO games fared rather well. The games were very soft.

Total profit: $106

wickss: Have you given the FPP program any thought? You'll be a SilverStar in five days playing 100 SnG's/day (6.50's), a GoldStar in another 6 days and a PlatinumStar in 10 days on top of that. Which would be roughly 20 days from now! This will give you access to some nice freerools, the weekly 20k and 50k which you should play. On top of this you'll have enough FPP's to "purchase" a hefty 32" LCD monitor by August/September

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe this is flawed without calculating it.. I won't make platinum unless I manage to play 2000 16s, how you can manange it playing the same amount of 6.50s doesn't make any sense. I'm guessing you thought the player points would start growing rapidly based on moving from silver to gold and those don't affect the points that determine your player status.

Edit: At 3 points per sng you need to play 3,334 6.50s. The additional points from upgraded status just help you buy more stuff with the points. If you actually can slightly exceed your 100/day goal that would be quite a feat.. has anyone on here hit platinum at 6.50s?

[/ QUOTE ]I can get a 32" LCD for 75,000 FPP and a GoldStar. I should have a GoldStar in a few days. And I can get 75,000 pts in six months at 400 pts a day. (with PLO) This would be cool!

Don't get the TV...unless you are just getting it for a TV. Get a couple of 20" or 24" flat screens. They are best for multitabling. Even if you do opt for a TV, you should probably check out the onecall.com GC for a better deal.

You could also wait for platinum star bonus(which you should be able to get if you play for a month solid, even at low stakes), but the $/FPP is pretty low.

Another option, use the FPP in the 5400 FPP 10 man SNGs where the top 4 get $215 tickets, or the 2700 FPP 20 mans where top 4 get $215, though these tournies are way bigger than what you are playing now value wise (5400 FPPs ~ $85).

Seriously, improve your game. It makes me angry that you have <10% ROI at the 6s or whatever.

Good Luck Wickss, I believe you can succeed. There will be some bumps; you need to hang tough. If you insist on playing small stakes mtt's I recommend the 20 table $4.40 you're much more likely to get some final table experience with the smaller field.

Agreed.

Also, I think this thread needs a photo of you guys eating your pizza.

[/ QUOTE ]I could not agree with you more!! Wickss is sorta the techie guy in this pairing (I really know very little about computers), and I keep telling him we need to put more pics on here because they are met with enormous popularity. One of two things has to happen: he has to agree with me that you guys love the pics and get serious about putting more on here, or I have to get better with computers. I wouldn't bet on the second happening.
