I watched them on Comcast OnDemand. I believe Mat Sklansky was on the table they were reviewing, unless that just happened to be another "Mat".

[ QUOTE ] I think he'd be great as a commentator [/ QUOTE ] Mike did this series of videos with him, Todd Brunson and Dave Sklansky. [/ QUOTE ] I would take Mike's NL/ PLO advice over Sklansky, but would take Sklansky'a advice on midstakes LHE. |

Dave would then berate Mike for recommending a particular play when clearly (so far as Dave Sklansky was concerned) a differant play was correct. [/ QUOTE ]Who the [censored] would listen to Sklansky over Matusow when it comes to tournament advice? |

We've all heard Mr. Matusow constantly berate others, talk up a storm, and/or try to coach others on becoming a better player, etc....Given that he's a constant loser (live and online), do others in the poker community really respect his game or comments/advice? I've seen him get really unlucky online (like almost every day), but have also seen him play poorly too. Game-wise, I don't think he's that great. But of all the guys out there, he seems to blame it on bad luck the most. On top of that, he loves to coach "newer or lesser" players all the time. Do people respect his game/advice? -TheMan [/ QUOTE ] If you think he is a loser then when can he get the $$$$ to play all those game???? Life on live Tourney cost couples hundreds grand a year... Please explain. Thanks. |

Please explain. Thanks. [/ QUOTE ] For sure, Mikey has been a loser. It's a well known and often poked-fun-of fact in the poker community. Mike himself openly admits to losing and often steaming off even more money online (close to millions). He gets by from having strong financial backers in the poker community. Do you remember after his WSOP ME final table finish and TOC win (2005? I think) that Mikey was saying he won just enough to pay off his debt to backers? Well, that's a good indication of just how much he was down. I admit, though, he takes sick beats online when I watched him play reguarly about 3 months ago. -TheMan |

Who are all of these backers that you say are willing to throw away good money by staking a supposedly known loser? People with enough money to give millions to Matusaw aren't stupid, and wouldn't give him the money if he was such a known loser and terrible player. It just doesn't make sense. Every consider that Matusaw's "woe is me" whinging is just part of his persona/act? Do you believe everything a poker player says at the table? No, me neither. So why to do take these statements as fact? You can watch him play online, but that small sample is hardly an indication of his success or failure. |
