I've been on the fence about this issue. Whether to stop because you not in the right frame of mind to play. Or stop because I've reach my win goal for the day.
I've had quick sessions, where I win the same amount as a 5+ hour session. Then I have situations where I'm down 4 or 5 buy ins. Then grind it back to even, and i'm just happy to stop playing. I wish it was the reverse, where i'm winning 4 or 5 buyins and stop when its sliding down. I guess the game is always going to be there. I find myself logging in all the time, wanting play. But stopping myself, because I've won enough for the day, and don't want to have a "bad day". I would rather having winning sessions everyday (short or long), just as long as I win. As much as I hate to write this, certain tables you get a better run of cards than others. Luck and streak does come into play. And I hate it when i'm on a losing streak, and I gotta chase to try and break even. |

checkit,
I've been playing for many years now and still honestly have the same type of situation as you so your not alone. Sometimes when I win a bunch in a quick session, I have the urge to stop because nothing is more frustrating than to be way up for the day and then have a bad run and go to bed down. Like you also said, it's hard for me to quit when down because it's difficult to stop for the day and realize I am down. It sort of makes the day feel like a waste. This is probably the biggest flaw with my game. Fortunately, I'm usually not real quick to tilt and can usually keep a level head and good play even when down. Maybe it would be just as good to just take a break if you are up or down a certain amount? I'm not so sure it's necessary to completely stop but I have found taking a little break good for the mind to sort of regroup... I don't know if my winrate would be better if I employed a system but I've always wondered. Definately try to stop when you feel like you are no longer playing well or the tables are dry regardless of what type of system you decide to use. I think that is probably much more important than continuing to play if who haven't reached some arbitrary goal... |

When I start hearing a buzz in my head I get dizzy and the moniter starts to get blurry and my eyes begin to cross.
I figure its pretty close to time to quit 8 tabling or at least take a break. |
