[ QUOTE ]
Another gem by the Sox for a win. Youk grinds out a hit, steals 2nd, Drew ties the game with a 2B, Lowell gets him in, Coco makes a 2 run saving diving web-gem, Pedroia gets a heroic HR that makes all the difference as Okey gets the save and Pap gets rest. Wow, on fire! [/ QUOTE ] And my man Tavares gives them 5 innings of one hit no runs, ahem, we won't mention the 6th. |

some updated math: if the Sox go .500 the rest of the year, they will win 90.5 games. for the Yankees to get that many wins, they will need to go .610 the rest of the way, which is the equivalent of a 99 win (out of 162) season.
the likely outcome is that the Sox do better than .500 AND the Yankees do worse than .610 from here on out; basically the division is ours, save for serious injury problems. |

I consider myself an optimistic Red Sox fan, but the division is ours when the Magic Number reaches 0.

Also, I am going to my first Red Sox game in about 15 years on Tuesday. I am really excited. Is anyone else going?

And my man Tavares gives them 5 innings of one hit no runs... [/ QUOTE ] I suggest that from now on, we all refer to Julian as "my man Tavares". |

Well, there was the time Baltimore's David Newhan hit a deep triple to the triangle...
