I would love to see some in-depth restaurant trip reports, including photos of the location/food, links to the restaurant website, a discussion of the food, and so forth.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I'd also like to see more cooking trip reports...actual OOTers cooking up awesome meals, with pics, recipes, etc.

I love those

El D: I like where your head is at.

I too would like to start threads here as this is exactly the type of forum I have been waiting for. I have lost interest in starting threads in OOT and have no interest in hearing from much of the lounge. You have amassed a good group of folks that have been around and actually have some real experiences - those are the people I want to hear and learn from.

Also, as a new lawyer, I likely have some different experiences and thoughts to bring to the table.

BTW, it is odd to see you in Green. Might I suggest you take a [censored] approach and go black, brown, or other color that sets you off as an individual.

Brown seems appropriate.

Thread suggestions:

Mod Forum Dirt. Now that you are over on the dark side, start dishin!

Low noise finacial threads - kind of general, but things like entrepreneurial concerns, portfolio discussion, good financial planning, etc. (These may exist in the finance forum, but I never go there) (A good one for you to start is to trip report the last venture you completed that you can talk about. I could trip report a couple of things, but I am not on your list, BASTARD!)

Maybe a low noise, intelligent thread on what is happening with on line poker in the US, what the possible developments over the next 3-24 months will be, and how to mitigate the risks that each of these possible developments will bring. (This would likely spawn lots of sub threads)

eidt

Please add/remove poster thread. I'll start this off with please add Nate tha' Great.

It's more of a link than a discussion, but there's a really good article on nutrition in the New York Times by Michael Pollan. I'm waiting for The Omnivore's Dilemma to come out in paperback; anybody read it? Link to the article here.

I'd ask for thread starting permission, but historically I'm not much of a thread starter, so I guess if I have anything I'll just bring it up when the time comes.

EDIT: I second fnord on investment discussions. This is something that doesn't really concern me now, but I'd like to start learning about it before it does concern me in a couple of years.

All,

Thanks for the great ideas. Most people asking so far in this thread seem like solid candidates for the forum. I'll compile an updated list in a few days once we have things rolling. Yes, even you, Savage!

I'll also create a couple of new threads today based on suggestions so far.

Diablo,

congratulations on your forum. Impressive! Now I can visit 2+2 daily instead of monthly!

Question; are some topics banned in here? Like poker content is banned in OOT and etc.

Spicy,

I am afraid you will have to put your question in the form of a picture. CHOP CHOP!
