Default Newbie question for Party VIPs

I finially stopped being lazy and started playing but I'm missing out a lot not being a VIP from what it sounds like. What's the cutoff pretty much to join the program, limit, MGR and such. Thanks in advance.

In the zillion other threads on this topic the general consensus seems to be $1,000 a month in MGR.

Alternatively, you can enquire with [email protected]

Send them an email if you are over $1k. I did and like others around here, was almost instantly put in the VIP club.

Thanks, I actually thought it was gonna be harder but $1k isn't that hard to do at all, I did $300 this week playing .5/1 so let's hope the move to 1/2 makes it so I I breeze through it by week 3 1/2.

it appears they might be upping the requirements if you play lower.
Seems weird...but $1k at .5/1 might not be enough. They might tell you that "at your limits" you still need to play more.

Which is totally stupid since MGR of $1k = MGR of $1k regardless of what limit you are at. But this appears to be a factor they consider.

I sent them an email asking for info on the program, and below is their response. At this point in the month, I was 6-tabling 0.50/1 6-max for the happy new year promo.

So I'm hoping the number they gave me was for 0.50/1 instead of my usual stakes of 3/6.
I only play party once I've finished my other monthly rounds of bonii and promotions, and I havent yet approached 16.5k raked hands.

I fear I'll never have enough incentive to play enough there for them to give me an incentive to play there.

Dear valued customer,

We would like to thank you for your interest in our PartyPoker.com VIP Club.

In regard to your email, the VIP Club has been setup to reward player who generate a high number of Player Club Regular Points every month playing at our tables.

We assess players on an individual basis, taking into consideration level of play and length of time spent at our tables. We have reviewed your account and wish to advise that you will need to increase the number of Player Club Points you generate monthly in order to qualify for our VIP Club.

As a rough guide, based on your current playing activity at our tables, to achieve the minimum number of Player Club Regular Points required you will need to play in excess of 16500 raked hands a month at your current stakes.

I can see that you play low stake tables and tournaments also, if you were to change your game play we would have to reconsider your target. If you do this you will have to get back in touch with us.

Our VIP Players list is updated at the beginning of every month, our system will automatically upgrade your account to VIP status once you have achieved these monthly parameters.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Okay I admit it, I am the one who clarified it was $1K a month. This per an e-mail I received from Daniel Wexler, head of promotions at PP. Since then I've seen a few posts saying that doesn't seem to be correct. I've been thinking about it and am wondering if those who seem to need more than 1K are signed through an affiliate and therefore Party is not getting the full 1K and would then up the requirements. I had never signed up through an affiliate.

Of course it could be that they have increased the requirement. The e-mail I got was in December, and it regarded my November play (first month of VIP) and lack of achieving my VIP goal.

I had posted the info in several threads but was reluctant to post the actual e-mail. If you guys really want me to post the e-mail, I will.

I have been reading all this... I came to a thought that it may "no longer be the preset number of $1K MGR"... while I agree with Bob that $1K MGR = $1K MGR regardless of level, I wonder if they are going on a trend focusing on having the high-volume players to get *the necessary Player Points*, rather than the MGR amount? One of Party's emails pasted here by someone seemed to indicate that...

Obviously, doing 18,000 hands at 0.5/1.00 as opposed to doing 10,000 hands at 3.00/6.00, Party prefers to invite the player into the VIP club doing the 10,000 hands at 3.00/6.00 even if rake is "probably similar" because...... who-knows-why!

My 2 cents...

Fudgies. Now I don't know what to think, I'm going to see if I can rack up $1000-$1200MGR this month at mostly 1/2 and .5/1 Fri-Sun and hope for the best. I really wish there was some sort of consistency where they told me if I did X rake at Y game I'd be in but apparently there is no such thing as standard opperating procedure in the offices of Party. I'll report what happens at the end of the month. Good luck me.

it seems to be like most party support issues it just depends on who you talk too on what day and which dart board they are throwing darts at. when i emailed them they told me 8500 raked hands (i emailed them back and told them i had played over 8500 raked hands and they replyed if i continue it through feb they will let me join). so points or MGR or rake i think it depends who you talk to. and apperently they concider more than one months play.
