[ QUOTE ]
In my opinion, the players are irrelevant. If you want to play +EV winning poker in the long run, the focus should be on YOUR play and ensuring that you are making good decisions with hands. If you do that, it doesn't matter if you're facing the fishiest fish or Phil Ivey. Badmouthing other players or breaking down the styles of other players will not help you improve or make good decisions. [/ QUOTE ] I don’t agree with this statement. While it’s true that you need to clean your leaks. The way you play and how you play a hand should be based on the situation. And one of the most important parts of that situation is how your opponents play, what mistakes they make and how best to exploit those mistakes. If you want to play + EV winning poker in the long run your focus should be on YOUR OPPENENTS style and how best to exploit it. Breaking down the styles of other players WILL help you improve and make better decisions. |
