30...Qe7
31. Qh3 Re6
32. Qxh4 Qxh4
33. gxh4 Nxa2
34. Rd1 when a7 is hanging and Rd8+-Rd7 is in the air, hitting 2 pawns. Additionally, the Knight is now offside. White's pawns are pretty weak though, maybe we can hold this position as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

We can interpose 30...hxg3 31.hxg3 Qe7. This might be the way to go, it's very solid for us.

On 30...Rc6 he has 31.Qf3 and it can get messy as we have to deal with the coming Bd2 move.

The favorable tension on g3/h4 is an advantage for Black (with the constant option of the annoying h3, while white rarely can play gxh4) Why does black want to relieve the tension? This can only help white, unless we only intend to play for a draw

Screw it guys. Let's vote Rc6. It won't get us in trouble, and hxg3 and Qe7 are just boring as [censored].

Yeah, BlackSails and I were looking at this on ICC, and the hxg3/Qe7 plan was just putting me to sleep.

shouldn't we want to interpose hxg3 hxg3 at some point soon though? it seems like not doing so leaves our rook restricted in its movements.

also, what is our general plan here? I am fairly new to chess, and have started studying tactics a TON, but still have no clue about making a long term plan or creating a position. what are we trying to do, in general here
