I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Democracy doesn't work!

(I know it is just a Simpsons joke, but...)

The US is completely retarded, not a democracy.

Not sure if anyone has posted this. Bill Frist has released a statement saying the Bill has passed: http://frist.senate.gov/index.cfm?Fu...elease_id=2622

Press Releases

FRIST STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF INTERNET GAMBLING LEGISLATION

September 29th, 2006 - WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D., (R-Tenn.) made the following statement after the Senate passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act:

“Gambling is a serious addiction that undermines the family, dashes dreams, and frays the fabric of society. Congress has grappled with this issue for 10 years, and during that time we’ve watched this shadow industry explode. For me as majority leader, the bottom line is simple: Internet gambling is illegal. Although we can’t monitor every online gambler or regulate offshore gambling, we can police the financial institutions that disregard our laws.”

seriously.. wtf is going on? i dont even now what to say, im just so stumped. people cant wager money by free will now? ( oh yeah, except horsies anything else would be outrageous, lmao ) i have followed this semi closely because honestly i didnt think this bill would pass because frankly its retarded. i dont leave in the USA but obviously this will affect me anyways. so im kind of pissed now, mainly because of the stupidity of the whole situation. online gambling bill attached to a port defence act? wow, just wow. solid political decision making right there.

im just rambling here, and maybe the implications of all this wont be that great, but the symbolic value cant be underestimated. i guess you should start to live in fear that anything you may take for granted might be taken away by some crazy politician on a mission no matter how absurd it is.

god bless america
