this is in all honesty the single most outrageous statement I've ever heard/seen regarding any subject.... ever... just listen to Brenda's got a Baby, and Keep ya head up.... case closed... [/ QUOTE ] These songs weren't at the very height of his career. They also aren't anything special lyrically. They're also excellent songs due to the high level of emotion he poured into them. lol @ Nas not being top 3-4. |

OK, so is "flow" just spitting rhymes 100mph a la Yngwie's shredding; or grooving tight to the beat a la Jimmy Page in his prime?
If it's the latter, the winner is Biggie by a Brooklyn mile. If it's the former, I've got no idea or interest, tho Bone-Thugs or Eminem would be a good place to start, I guess. IMO, Tupac did neither particularly well, tho overall he was very good, of course, esp. as a lyricist. I always thought his music rep got enhanced greatly by getting whacked young, and that he would've become a megastar as an actor, had he lived. |

Tupac sucked as a lyricist, was great as a rapper. Tons of emotion and charisma, weak lyrics for the high point of his career. He started stepping up his game on Makaveli, though, but was killed before he could continue with his better lyrics.

[/ QUOTE ] Is that Gift of Gab? I like Blackalicious quite a bit but I wouldn't say he has the world's greatest flow. |

I've been listening to a lot of rap lately, and I decided that flow is the most important thing in rap, IMO. Lyrics and production just don't matter as much to me. So, OOT, recommend me some rappers with good flow. My vote for best flow goes to Rakim at the moment. I've also been listening to some Chamillionaire and I'm very impressed with his flow despite the ridiculous lyrics. So, who else should I be listening to? [/ QUOTE ] lyrics: eminem production: dre beats: premier flow: black thought, jay z, meth. i dont really think any are close either. Barron |
