small/shorthanded games?...

as a pro cash game player, i've benefited a lot from watching your show and was curious if either of you (Bart or Dave) had any tips/advice on playing short-handed nlhe...???

also, would there ever been possibility of doing a short-handed show specifically? ...like say have a short-handed game every Wed. night or something like that to show how the game plays differently.....probably not eh? ...but just curious...

How much value is there in raising 50% of the pots if you are Corporation Mike? I understand that it is a tight table but its not a tournament, you really dont need to "accumulate" chips to move onto later stages. This is why I think Mike would be a really good tourament player. The problem I have with him raising so much is if someone re-raises him preflop and he lets it go or if he ends up losing a monster pot because he was goofing around with like Q8 offsuit and flops trips against a boat, wouldnt it almost seems like negative EV in the long run? Any math-related or physcology-related reply's would be greatly appreciated.

For a russian accent rant, see Rounders. John Malkovich can provide it.

The nice thing about hold'em is that there are only several starting hand percentages that are possible.

These are approximate and there are others:

Pair over Pair 80/20 4:1
Dominated (e.g. AK vs AJ) 75/25 3:1
Two Overs vs Two Unders 70/30 2:1
One Over vs Pair(A8 vs KK) 67/33 2:1
One over-One Under (A9 vs K8) 60/40 3:2
Tweener (AT vs KJ) 65/35

and the really bad situation for the dog
One under (AA vs AQ) 93/7 13:1
