Reads: Both players have played a solid final table, both on the tight side, benefitting from big hands rather than abusing their way to the top.
Button complained that I stole his blinds too much on the final two tables, and said things like "5 high" or "7 high" every time he folded. He said more than once that he would come over the top with Q high. Sure, buddy. He played back once with AQs. I was opening for 3BBs with any two when I was in the small blind and he was in the big blind. This happened often when we were 5- to 18-handed. SB seemed to play solid, if not 90% ABC, but conscious of blind stealing. I stole his BB with a narrow range because he showed that he was more willing to play back at me when I would open-raise in LP during the final two tables. My Image: Built my stack with standard pushes with AA|AK|AJ at the final table. Button probably regarded me as loose aggressive -- bordering on maniacal -- pre-flop because of my incessant theft of his BB. SB was position-aware and likely did not see me as maniacal, but definitely aggressive. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t4000 (3 handed) converter Hero (t80480) Button (t80004) SB (t109516) Preflop: Hero is BB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Button calls t4000, SB completes, Hero checks. WTF is a Stars $22 10-table?
Oh, fold. That button limp and flop bet seems like a good ace wanting action preflop. |

Well, it depends on what the card is, of course, but I'm not too worried about the button because who limps in with a big ace 3 handed from the button? I'm calling because I have position on the SB and would like to keep an eye on him. If he checks, I'd check behind him and then the button will check because he's got nothing. If the button surprises us by betting, then we need to use judgment. If the SB leads and bets, I'm almost certainly folding UI. |

Keep the pot small and call here... there will be about 31K in the pot...
I check/call a small bet on the turn if no paint and /or club pops up.... my line is... I want to get to showdown without losing any more chips... |
