Well, the following will defiantly seem like a bit of a rant, but I really felt the need to post this so I will feel accountable to the goals I have set out. I basically played Limit Hold’em exclusively for the past 8 months and defiantly was not getting it as well as I should have been and frankly, poker was beginning to seem not fun.
Rather than cash out, I’m going to play Sit&Go’s not because I feel their easier or the magic fix to my game, rather, I find them more fun and challenging and the player is able to use his imagination more which I feel is an asset for myself. I have $772 as a bankroll. I enjoy poker stars so I’ll be playing over there. So here’s where I’ll appreciate you guys correcting/tweaking the following “guide” I’m making myself. - Starting off playing 50 sit & go’s per day. (I’m a student so no wife, kids or work priorities) - Will play 500 $5 + .50's to start off, obviously 500 isn’t going to tell you much, but if after posting a lot of hands and playing 500 sit & go’s at this level, if my ROI isn’t close to the one for the $11's I’ll know I’m not very good. - I will defiantly attempt to not be results orientated and when things are running well, continue to post tons of hands for you guys to be-rate - If I do have a good ROI on the $5's then I’ll move to the $10's and rinse and repeat. Thanks for listening to me rant, and any comments/suggestions about my “guide” would be appreciated. G. |

[/ QUOTE ] If you want to "use your imagination more," I'd suggest NL cash games or multi-table tournaments. Especially at the low buy-ins, "imaginative" play will only lose you money in SnGs. |

You might also try the $6.50s on Stars. They are faster than the 5.50s and they have less rake so you will make more money. Although since there are quite a few 2+2 players bankroll building at that level the competition could be slightly tougher.

Making bad calls on the bubble and pushing into people with too wide of a calling range on the bubble will cost you a large % of ROI

100 tournaments at any given buy-in should tell you for sure whether or not you're beating that level. Of course, it won't prove anything statistically, but really, you have a brain for a reason. If you're crushing the 5's, just play the 10's or 20's or whatever you like for your bankroll. If you're losing at the 5's, better start posting a lot of hands and spend your time studying rather than playing. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure I had a 100 game losing stretch in the $11s as well as 100 game stretch around 70%. |

If that’s the case you might be my personal hero. That’s a long stretch and real test of ones character not to give up the spirit. My guess is I’m either missing read it… Or.. the gods were telling you to focus your energy on something else for awhile and you did not listen? Like to hear more about this… |
