This is from a live game on Saturday night at the Taj in AC.
Hero has been playing very laggy. I've been raising a lot on the table and bullying everyone around and the rest of the table knows that. Villain is a tighty. He hasn't played many hands. He doubled up on his first hand at the table and has been winning small pots since then. We've been at the table together for about 2 hours. Please no comments on preflop play. Let's focus on the play strictly from the flop on. Stacks: Hero - $600 Villain1 (SB) - $420 Villain2 (CO) - $240 Preflop: Hero is UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero raises to $6, 7 callers, Villain1 (SB) raises to $40, BB folds, Hero calls, 5 folds, Villain2 (CO) calls, Button folds Flop: ($153) T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain1 checks, Hero? |

No offense, but I can't imagine how this hand could require much thought.

Ok ok, we'll go straight to the turn then...Rest of the flop action:
Hero bets $100, Villain2 folds, Villain1 calls Turn: ($353) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain1 checks, Hero... Villain1 has about $280 left so about the size of the pot. Thoughts? |

you have to bet the flop. A pot size bet is good. This way if anyone of them calls they risk a good portion of their stack. So you are putting pressure on them and you probably have them beat. So if they have like JJ or QQ or maybe even 99 then they might be forced to put the rest of their money in . Also the pot is a good sized pot and the flop is where you have to be aggressive and get info about what their hands are. you can't be passive on the flop. Now the Villian likely has AK or AQ, or a pair and is scared that a ten hit, either way your pot size bet is good because if they call the flop they are commmited to the pot and you just chopped away at their stack. So the pot size bet is all about pressure.

i think preflop needs to be commented on. with a laggy image 4bet it all day, makes it easier to get it in with stack sizes.
