Default Getting to Reno from SF Bay Area?

Just wondering if anyone happens to know of any sort of bus/shuttle/whatever services from the SF Bay to Reno casinos...

There have to be some for the old people to use to get there or whatever.

I have a trip planned for a couple of weeks from now and we were planning on driving... but the weather threatens to be pretty craptacular and if we can pay $50 to have someone else haul us back and forth that sounds like a much better idea.

Google has not helped me any, I can't find anything but I know they have to exist like for some sort of "leave friday, come home Sunday" sort of weekender trip busses.

Planes are too much $$, amtrak is overpriced and greyhound takes 8hrs to get there. Something better has to exist.

Anyone?

(and yes, I know that the Bay has a lot of casinos that are probably better than the ones in Reno, but this is a "vacation" and it was a convenient drive and I managed to get poker included... but now it's become significantly less convenient since I haven't driven in a year and have no desire to start driving again in the snow)

Look in entertainment (pink?) section of the Sunday Chron. It used to have advertisements. Also the travel section.

Have heard of Lucky Tours, but no info on it.
Google "reno bus tour" shows some results.

oops, you said you didn't want to do amtrak, nm then.

A good idea would be to call some of the bigger casions in Reno (El Dorado, Peppermill, Silver Legacy) and ask them about travel options from the bay area. They should know all about this.

You can use Bart to connect to non-Amtrak (I think) trains (CalTrain?) to get to Sacramento. From Sacramento, search again.

Flights aren't that bad. I just quickly checked SouthWest and found RT tickets (Leaving 3/10 and returning 3/12) from San Jose ro Reno for $143 a person. The flights are like 45-50 minutes!!

For short flights like that you can sometimes get them for $34 each way.

I'm driving to Reno on Friday afternoon. I'll give you a ride but you have to find your own way back.

I found the same deal yesterday. The day before, they were 220 a person and all of the cheap flights were sold out. Very odd, I thought flights only got MORE expensive as it went closer to the date, but I'll take it!
