Back in January I put $150 on Russia to win the gold at +607 on Pinny with the intention of middling it if they got to the gold medal game.
Now I am thinking it would be better to go ahead and hedge some of this now against Finland who I can get at +160. I assume if Russia does make it to the gold medal match they will be favored over Swed/Czech so I am sitting in a nice position if that happens, but if I hold out and Russia gets beat by Finland I can't make anything. So my question is what is the best course of action? Thanks, TheRake |

The best course of action would probably have been to bet less money in the first place and plan not to hedge.

I'd have to think that they'd be huge favorites over either team in the final. So big, I wouldn't even bother to hedge it. I'd just take my chances with a super-big fav at +600.
If I were you, I'd hedge the Finland game, but just a tiny amount. I'm thinking, "Enough to get my bet back if USSR loses." This Russian team is good, but so are the Fins. |
