Obviously something like slow play will be mentioned, but I'm hoping for something a little more nuanced.
One of mine is speed of getting to the tee. I usually drive the cart and yet when I park the brake my routine consists of: get out of cart, grab club, proceed to tee while grabbing a tee from my pocket so I can be ready to proceed when I get there. And yet, BY A MILE, I am typically the fastest at this than anyone in my golfing circle. This situation reached its nadir a couple of years ago in a tournament where a couple of friends of ours would take FOREVER to get out of the cart. WTF are you guys doing? I usually keep the card but I find time to score when appropriate. We'd stand on the tee for 60-90 seconds while they did who the hell knows what. Now, at times I have rabbit ears, particularly when I'm annoyed with the competitors in my group, so I was more than willing to let them get on the tee, it just took an embarrassingly long time. What the hell are you guys doing over there, hole after hole? Honorable mention to people's tee etiquette, where they talk or position themselves in a way so as to be distracting, and to people unwilling to help look for the stray balls of others, whether its in their best interests or not. |

Taking too many practice swings or too long sizing up a shot. A couple guys I've played with will get out of the cart take 2 practice swings, step back, eye the shot, step forward, sit in their stance for a few seconds, take a couple practice swings, and then finally get to it. This is especially irritating to me because I generally take 0 or 1 practice swing and then shoot.

Not knowing how to say shank, hosel, etc. I love hearing about nozzle rockets and skanks.

People that wait for the green to clear for their 290 yard approach over water into the wind from a divot after they ripped the best drive of their life 230.
