this hand is from a couple months ago and i don't have the HH in a database. villain is callide, a good, tough multitabling regular. we hadn't tangled too much before but are on a bunch of tables together. he probably views me as generally solid preflop but with plenty of postflop game.

i normally muck this the first time they repop me out of the BB but decided to play this given stacks and our being on a bunch of tables together.

I like this line better with a set personally...but you're looking pretty good against TT-KK...although it's very hard to think "Hey, villain called a 3-bet, he's sitting with 44-88"...So if he's really solid, he'll have to think you have AA/KK here...In which case, I like your line assuming he doesn't have those. If I were him, I'd lay down QQ to this shove and contemplate calling with KK. And what I adore about this hand is that you still have 8 cards to a split (assuming he doesn't have 33/88/99...which I doubt he does) and another 9 to a flush (a likely win unless he has a set already...which is also unlikely).

So yeah, I'm sold. Nice hand.

what were your reasons for leading the flop as oppose to check-raising? Do you feel villain was aggressive enough to raise your flop donk with air?

Check-raising this deep puts you in a bad spot on the turn when you whiff and have to shove turn with ten high. Stacks are perfect for a b/3b. nh

yah what keyser said. i'm pretty comfortable getting the money in here but i want to be the one doing it and i want to force him to act as many times as possible before i shove. c/r flop - shove turn and b3b flop - c/r turn both force him to act twice, but the second lets me see how he reacts to the turn card before i stick it in.

everyone is saying nh, but when i actually played this hand, only dbitel really liked it. everyone else basically asked what is he betting on the turn and folding to a shove? i'm not even sure if his range after the turn bet is more air than made hands and if it is, c/c turn c/c river is probably better now that i have showdown value and a ton of very good outs still.

being a blind vs. blind battle his range can be much wider here then in most other instances that this line is taken. His 2/3 PSB can mean anything from the nuts to 2pair to combo draw like you to complete air.

imo that turn card sucks and weakens your hand more then it helps. indifferent about the shove. sometimes its bueno, sometimes no. flow of game affects frequencies.
