Default Trip to STL - latest conditions?

I haven't played in a STL casino in some time - what's the latest going on there? Is harrah's 2-5NL still the juciest game around? What is spread at Ameristar on the weekends? Any of the internet geeks brave enough to to to the prez-o-dent? Thanks for the tips.

The 2-5 at Harrah's is far from juicy because of their horrendous must-move system. You might as well leave the casino after your first table because the rest of the games are full of tight nitty regulars.

I'm waiting to see what kind of poker will be at the new Pinnacle casino downtown and/or the new Casino Queen.

I went to the president about 2 months ago, for 30 minutes, then I contemplated buying a gun and shotting myself because it was so depressing. the 30/60 at harrahs is decent, its the only game near that big, but only on wed/fri/sun, 20/40 at ameristar runs for like 3 hours on friday afternoons. Only other gams are 3/6 and 4/8 limit, I dont play much nl, so i cant help ya there.

Really? Every time I played, the last (and second to last) table were full of degnerates with $1500 in their stacks. Very +EV. Of course, just quitting, getting back on the list, and playing craps for an hour is a viable alternative.

Speaking of Harrah's, I had a question about the rake/time charge structure (I've been to Harrah's but didn't have a chance to play). I noticed the 2/5 NL games were $5/half hour. How does the casino take money at the other tables (1/2 NL as well as limit games)?

The rake at the 1/2 NL is 10% up to $4, I believe.

The same rake applies to limit games. There's an extra $1 taken out for the BBJ.

only when Nelly shows up. he's completely LAG/Maniac, but i don't think losing $500 is a big deal to him.

Nelly is also an extreme donkey at the 5-10 limit game when they have it.

I'd definitely go to Harrah's unless you're up for omaha or even HORSE, in which case Ameristar would be your better bet.

And speaking of Pinnacle, I'm already boycotting that place for running out legendary businesses on the landing like Mississippi Nights.
