4 handed
i have been pounding hands preflop and winning a good amount of pots recently. i *felt* my image was LAG and the guy in the hand was aggro to begin with. he had capped my button 3 bet of him a few hands ago and i outdrew him but he folded river. i open with QQ in CO, folded to villian in BB who 3bags, i cap. flop is A68 two hearts, i have none. he bets into me standard call down? havent layed much poker over last 6 months so i am trying to get back into groove. |

Standard for me is to get to the river and then decide. Yeah probably call, value bet if checked to.

I usually call down, but I sometimes raise flop, check turn, call or bet river. The problem with that play is when they 3bet the flop with KT or something and you lay it down... or when they just call the flop with KT or something and win the pot in the end. Usually don't fold QQ with a LAG image at 4 player table though.

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree with this, I think you can often lay it down on the end in a spot where it looks like you have just decided to call down because it looks that way to him too. There are lots of guys where the call the turn intending to fold the river line works quite well, you just have to know your man. As a default I agree you just grit your teeth and hope he shows you 55 or something dumb. Also I sometimes use timing tells for these things, if the flop and turn action go bet/call bet/call really fast I'm much more likely to fold the river than if there is something unnatural in his actions. -DeathDonkey |

Unless he's a mindless nit, there is not way I fold before the river.

The donk to me says he's looking for three bets or one. Only hands I see that would want three are AK and AA, so I think it's a bit more likely he's trying to overrepresent and keep it to one bet per street. Nonetheless I'd just call and value bet the river if checked to, barring a king.
