Default First trip to Atlantic City, which casinos?

First time going to a brick and mortar, and I am going to be up in NJ for the day so I figure why not hit up AC? But I havent been to a BM anywhere, so I need some advice on where to play. Strong tourney player, mainly sit n gos, have a ITM percentage of around 45+ (lately way over 50%, thanks to 2+2) I was planning on a bankroll of about 500, not sure what the tourney scene is like, but I also play well in cash game play too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've never played SnGs in AC, but I would guess you're better off just sticking to online. The rake on live tourneys is ridiculously high. I play multi table tourneys from time to time there, but it's hardly ever worth it. The structure always sucks, and the entry fee, like I said, is much higher than online. As far as poker rooms, I think the Borgata is pretty much the only option these days (not literally, but IMO, the Trop and the Taj are really fucking dirty. The Taj is okay, actually. The Trop depressed me so horribly last time I went there, I vowed off going there anymore. The pink chip game at the Trop is soft, but it sounds like it might be a bit over your br.

I suppose you could play a couple $50-$100 tournaments, but most of those have a really bad structure. I also wouldn't recommend live SNGs; the structure and the rake are terrible. You can play 1/2 NL anywhere....some of the smaller rooms like Hilton and Showboat might have better games and comps if that's all you are looking for. You don't really have the bankroll for NL, but if you are just going for the day I guess it doesn't really matter.

SNG at Wild Wild West. They start as soon as they fill up.
But only a moron would play in them.

It's your first trip to AC don't go to the Borgata.
Use your first trip to walk the boardwalk take in the sights
Start at the trop and walk down to the Taj
Or play poker at the Taj or trop and when finished take a buggy down the boardwalk.
Buy a 5.00 piece of pizza
Get your fortune told. (They are REAL psychics not the fake ms cleo ones on TV.) I once went to one she told me not to gamble or I would lose and I went home broke Well worth the 10.00

Not a bit. It's his first trip to AC he should take in the casinos their themes have a few drinks at each one walk the boardwalk stop in ripleys and play poker if he want's at any of the AC casinos Trop Taj BAllys...etc
The borgata is not AC and not what AC is about.BUT with the revitalization of the city (adding new stores etc etc) the Borgata is prob the future of AC but no matter what gets torn down or replaced at some point the focus will be back on the boardwalk area.

The borgata is to AC.....as The rio and palms are to the Vegas Strip

Put another way. Yeah it's a great place to go but who want's to waste all that time taking a cab, trolly, hitchhiking all that way for something i can get on the boardwalk (Strip)
