Pocket Q's with trips on the board

Only my fifth hand at the table, but in general it seemed a bit laggy as I watched a couple of orbits before sitting.

I think I made the right move in EP calling the re-raise, but looking back at the hand I wonder if I should have tried to isolate the button by capping as I had the best read on him and knew he was even more of a LAG than the rest of the table.

The A scared me so I bet to get some information. Seeing the call made me a bit more confident CO didn't have it.

Was he slow-playing me by not re-raising on the last street? I felt the odds were enough to call his re-raise at this point regardless, but I was considering a check/fold on the river as a result of his play on this street.

With him calling a 3-bet preflop, calling the flop and then raising the turn I'd still put him on an A and worried about you having the 3 or figuring you have another A and you'll split the pot. What's his aggressiveness, hand play %, reads?

4-bet pre flop.

I do not like putting in two bets on that turn, so I would either check and call (first choice), or bet and fold (second). (Especially if you're not comfy with folding against this specifice player. Against some it's an easy fold if he raises, against others it's not.)

I'm not worried about free cards and your checking might encourage him to try to move you, or might make him believe his worse hand is actually best and bet for value.

Unfortunately I didn't have too much of a read on him at that point other than seeing him win a pot a couple of hands earlier playing HU after the flop. He pulled a flush draw on the river in the hand holding 5d3d in the BB with the flop showing two A's. He was definitely at a disadvantage prior to the river as it was clear the other player had a pocket A and the pot was small.

So basically I figured he wasn't too good of a judge of when to fold, but I couldn't tell his pre-flop play since he just checked from the BB.

Looks like a weak ace to me, and he's worried about the kicker, that would explain him raising on the turn. On the river...I guess he thinks it's a split pot and there's no need to bet (just a guess.) However, it's .05/.10, so he could have Js2s or 45s or some other such insanity.

I suppose a 4-bet would have also had the effect of giving me a better read on CO's hand and might have driven away overcards with a weak kicker as well.

The main reason is that you're very likely winning, and you're very likely a huge favorite.

Get the CO's money in before he misses the flop.

I would say that he's probably just a donk with KJo, trying to bluff. Or maybe 44-66. It seems as if he got scared of the 8?

There is no isolation. Trying to isolate Player B when Player A has already (voluntarily) put money in the pot is futile. The good news is you're not trying to isolate B in this case, you want to raise for value--because you have an equity edge against their range of hands.
