how is this possible? i'm not questioning the math, i just don't understand how you couldn't arb this out with a positive bet on miami for the series at +157.

i have miami on a free future bet for $50 to win $425 and i have been reluctant to hedge because well its free and dallas odds have been steadily getting worse. is this right? it wouldnt be the last time i have flubbed what looked to be good on paper?

So, if you have 10k total bet, if mavs:
Win in 4: 13961 win +1095 bet =15966 total
Win in 5: 13336 win +1732 bet =15068 total
Win in 6 or 7: 11478 win +3587 bet=15065 total


Looks good, but betting 10k at -168 on mavs gets you 5952 win.

You likely erred in not factoring that you lose all the other bets.
