POLL: How Many Of You Are Aware?
The Holloway thread and thinking about Darfur, Sudan, etc. has made me think of how ridiculous it is that she gets so much attention and globabl tragedies don't get any attention. So much for a "global community." Soooo, how many of you were aware that over 5500 people were killed by an earthquake in Indonesia this past weekend?

I was, but only because my friend told me.
In that conversation I mentioned the following litmus test. On the weekends I tend to only see sports news. So for something to be a BIG DEAL (like you'd think the death of 5K people would be) it has to be big enough to break into sports programming on show up on ESPN.com. This didn't, as such I was not aware.
