I am 23 and in Boston (somerville actually) I started playing poker when I was 8 probably. We use to empty out the change from our change jar and play small amounts.
I listen to hillbilly music for the most part, Byrds, Band, Phish, G-dead, Sunvolt, Wilco, Ralph Stanely, anything with a guy that drinks wiskey and a banjo. I am probably in. I have been lurking around here for a while. The reason I started lurking is kind of funny, my grandfather and I were sitting around the table BSing as I enjoy doing, and I was telling him about how I had been making a good amount of money playing 100NL and 2/4 short handed. He was like back in my day blah blah blah 7 card stud is the only real game blah blah blah. So I want to get good at playing stud and take him down(we are a very competitive family). Also I am getting kind of sick of holdem. Also people are getting better at holdem over the years. The level of play on party (while not close to good) has gotten better. Anywho, if anyone in the boston area wants to get together at the chinatown poker club someday let me know. I am down. |

Who is going to read all of these posts? hehe Well here we gooooooooo
Age: 28 tomorrow (March 29th) Residence: Milwaukee, WI. I love this city! Marital Status: Girlfriend of over 2 years. Occupation: Unemployed. Laid off this past summer from GE Healthcare (I used to do IT work). Worked for my father in his business for awhile but would have to move to Orlando (where my family is) to really get involved in the business - not sure if I want to do that. Since I have been playing cards and supplementing my income that way. College - Went to Univ of Wisconsin-Whitewater. No degree though. Oh well. College isn't for everyone. Movie - Not really a big movie guy. More of a music guy. But Slap Shot, Big Lebowski, Bourne Identity - all great movies. Music - Classic Rock. Floyd (hence my DSotM avatar on 'Stars), Doors, Beatles, The Who, Petty, etc.. Poker Accomplishment - Not too big, but placed 5th in a $50 420 player tournament on 'Stars last week. Only paid $1,200 but was proud of my play. I will win a big one some day. I really believe it! |

HI!
23yr old Texas boy here. Finishing up my degree from Texas A&M University. Started playing poker at friendly table games back in high school. Been playing NLHE for a year or so, recently alot online. I enjoy 7CS much more than holdem, as well as the crowd here (been lurking for a while). I have Hold Em for advanced players, reading TOP right now, and have low limit hold em that I need to read. With my new found interest I'm going to pick 7CS for advanced players, though I'm far from advanced. I'm attempting to reply to posts....though I don't have MUCH insight to offer. |

I am pretty sure this is the first ever thread in the stud forum to have a little cool flame next to it...

It's probably a game with a continuous shuffle (as in, they just throw the cards from last hand into a massive shuffle machine and never have to stop dealing hands). Jeff [/ QUOTE ] You're not allowed to post in this thread, Stop. |

-finally beating the 30/60 stud game on poker stars...it has the better players than any game I've ever played -actually making money in the Taj 75/150 stud game, I've struggled with making the enormous strategy changes needed to switch fromonline to live stud games but I think I've finally become a big winner in this game (time will tell) [/ QUOTE ] Is the gist of your enormous strategy changes for high-limit live games versus high-limit online based on a tendancy for a larger percentage of high-limit online players to be aggressive and in many more cases loose-aggressive versus more weak-tights at the high limits live? Or is there another primary issue in view? Maybe something to do with tells? |

Born in 1959.
Live in Oakland, California, with a long-term partner. No living children. Educated as a physicist; after some years work as an engineer drifted into freelance editing. Currently enrolled in a master's degree program in conflict resolution from a tiny little school you've never heard of. I don't have a 'favorite' movie, but recently viewed and enjoyed Brokeback Mountain, Something for Everyone, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Shakespeare in Love, X-Men, and V for Vendetta. Favorite musicians include Richard Thompson, John Lee Hooker, Counting Crows, Thelonious Monk, Jimi Hendrix, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Sergei Rachmaninov. Best poker accomplishment was outplaying Brad Daugherty to win $10K in a NLHE tournament. I've played poker since I was fifteen, but didn't get involved in public cardroom poker until 1997. |

I'm 30
I live in Mexico teaching English at a University here, but I'm originally from California. Never married, no children, no girlfrind at the moment. Studied mathematics at UCLA. My favorite movie is Fargo and my favorite group is White Zombie. I've been playing poker for about a year and my best accomplishment is not going broke. I have never deposited money into any poker site, just playing with free 5 or ten dollar credits that some of the poker sites give you for signing up. Now I have a little bit over two thousand at Pacific. Used to play hold em, but now I almost exclusively play stud. |
