Does that mean that there is often violence as a result?
Would letting people get away with that make everybody all over the place mark you as a sucker and dogpile on you, taking advantage and stealing from you constantly? I'm kind of wondering if not fighting someone would be even more dangerous than fighting them, if they ripped you off or "punked" you somehow. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes this kind of thing often results in violence. People will often have their food/cigarettes stolen, or will be threatened to give them up. Your best course of action would probably be to fight instead of handing your stuff over. You have to stand up for yourself in prison, or your bid is going to be even worse. |

You said you watched the WSOP on the TV you bought - how? Was there cable?
Also, where do you buy these types of items from? A special prison seller, or anywhere you want? |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, the cells have a cable outlet. The channels I got were: BET (naturally), USA, ESPN, CBS, Discovery, ABC, TNT, TBS, SCI FI, NBC, and FOX. There's a company that makes electronics for prisons. The TV's are made in clear casings so if people try to stash something inside of it, it's visible. |

I don't even have cable myself. Did you have to pay extra for the cable, or was it just turned on in every cell for everyone? |

I did about 6 months in a state prison. Not as an inmate but as an employee. I did not enjoy it one bit. You do not want to go to prison, ever.
I worked in medical and one time a prisoner asked me to sneak some black silk socks into the prison. I refused and told him to never approach me again like that. If I had brought in anything he and the rest of the inmates would have had me bring in all kinds of stuff. Then someone would have snitched on me and I would have been fired. Question: Why do they tell on the people that are assisting them? There were numerous affairs between female (and probably male) staff and inmates. They would go on for a few months and the inmate would snitch on the person that he was having an affair with. Why would they do that? Did you notice that you meet some very nice murders in prison? Most of the murderers were ok and it was the thiefs and such that made life miserable for the staff. I knew that you could make a tat gun with a cd player and that alot of the work is better than what you see on the outside. Where did they get the ink and did they even try to keep it clean? I would say that over half the inmates in prison have hepatitis. Do they not care or do they not know the risk? |

"I worked in medical and one time a prisoner asked me to sneak some black silk socks into the prison. I refused and told him to never approach me again like that. If I had brought in anything he and the rest of the inmates would have had me bring in all kinds of stuff. Then someone would have snitched on me and I would have been fired. Question: Why do they tell on the people that are assisting them?" Could be several reasons. They might have stood to gain from telling on you, or they might've just not liked you and were just trying to get rid of you. "There were numerous affairs between female (and probably male) staff and inmates. They would go on for a few months and the inmate would snitch on the person that he was having an affair with. Why would they do that?" Yeah I haven't touched on this. Officers and inmates screwing around is pretty standard. Also, all the officers generally screw around with each other. If an inmate is sacraficing getting laid to tell on someone, then I would assume they had a very good reason. "Did you notice that you meet some very nice murders in prison? Most of the murderers were ok and it was the thiefs and such that made life miserable for the staff." Yeah, as I said, the toughest people to deal with are the younger kids who feel they have to prove themselves. One of the nicest inmates I met had 6 life sentences. "I knew that you could make a tat gun with a cd player and that alot of the work is better than what you see on the outside. Where did they get the ink and did they even try to keep it clean? I would say that over half the inmates in prison have hepatitis. Do they not care or do they not know the risk?" The use the soot created from burning the pieces of a chess set as ink. I would assume they do know the risk and don't care. Keep in mind alot of these people aren't ever going home. |
