Resistance, 4 betting is probably fine but in reply to your post I would say that your reasons for 4 betting are wrong. Not all poker hands can be all in preflop. Sometimes, you can win more wih aces with a call.

I disagree with this logic - define sometimes?

Preflop, we have the nuts, postflop we probably don't. Add in set paranoia (as seen in the OP) and we've got a shrunken pot where we had the nuts on an earlier street but decided to get tricky.

That's my reasoning anyway.
