[ QUOTE ]
I played the orleans all summer when I wasn't at the rio during the series.
I thought the omaha game was one of the most miserable games I've ever played in my life.
They are all vegas regulars who are miserable people. Not saying all regulars in vegas are miserable. Just this group of unfortunate degenerates.
They criticize the dealers, the floor is called regularly because they complain so much, the dealers don't like working the game cause its filled with a bunch of stiffs.
To make it worse the game doesn't have much action. You know---it might be action filled but between all the bitching only five hands get dealt per hour.

I'd rather eat a pound of broken glass than play in this game.
On a positive note. They did have a ton of tourney action and a HORSE game got kicking some of the nights---don't know if this is because of the series or if it's a regular game.
They will start an interest list if you ask.
If that game gets going it's money in the bank!

Hope you get some comic relief outta this post but you can find me in the parking lot eating broken glass if I ever sit in that game again.

In other words you played Omaha/8.

You described pretty much every Omaha/8 game in existence. It wasn't because you were at the Orleans, it was because you were playing Omaha/8.

I have played at Orleans a few times...holdem was fairly miserable atmosphere as well...I felt it was due to the locals occupying most of the seats...

I play the Orleans a lot.
I think you (O.P.) might like the O/8 games there. They often have 2 or 3 games going of O/8. Sometimes during busy times, they will have even more.

Wow Randy, That was EXACTLY what I was thinking when I
read his post. Good observation Bro (as always).

Everyone always says how the same people (locals) are at the Orleans but I'm amazed how often I'll be in a game with 8 or 9 people from out of town. YMMV.

The remodel of the poker room is awesome and I still really dig the 24 hour Subway right by the poker room, the movie theater for breaks from poker, their many restaurants and some of my favorite cocktail girls (take care of me and my friends even when we are not playing), and favorite floor people and Brushes.

I find the hold'em games there (both limit & NL) to be pretty friendly all in all. Same with the mixed games, PLO, stud-8 and razz games that went a good part of the summer (well, razz just went a few nights but the stud-8 was to die for).

Hey, Good enough for Greg Maddux to play $10-20 there a few weeks ago, good enough for me :-)

Best of Luck

Howard
