Also, I remember as a young guy finding Norma absolutely replusive. But when I watched Sunset Boulevard a year or so ago, she gave me a boner.

Is this normal?

Yeah, it is. I remember in one of Gary Shandling's old stand-ups, he was saying how weirded out he was when he turned the channel to Leave it to Beaver and realized for the first time that Beaver's mother was HOT! "Look at that tiny waist!"

When you're a kid, someone just looking over 25 makes them seem almost inhuman. That's more like the kind of age parents are, who are only arguably human at that point and, one would hope, not sexual. They might as well be 45 or 50. Once you're grown up yourself, it takes more than being a grown-up too to make someone sexually undesirable. You gotta look for specifics.

That said, I'm not sure Desmond did it for me. I'd have to watch the flick again. It's safe to say that Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane didn't ring my bell, at least.
