most online forums on the internet filled with people who consider themselves 'experts' on a certain subject whether it be computer related like video game forums or tech questions or otherwise tend to be filled with anti-religious self-righteous pufferies (and liberal but lets leave that alone).
this site seemed to be free of that non-sense and sticking to the topic seems like a nice idea. A) im not religious B) It is politics, not religion that is keeping poker illegal. As a poker player that saw the devastation the widespread use of damage that poker did to many families who could not afford the losses I find sympathy in their arguments. Look, its not "illegal" we all know how to deposit still so whats the problem?? i don't get it. wire the money in... only people who should complain are those who used their parents credit cards and now can't. |

I love sports as much as I love poker. I do not bet on sports the most I do is fantasy football. You LOL'D at evangical groups (very bold stance to take in the online community, almost as controversial as saying you don't like president bush) but you failed to read the OP's reference to profesional sports being against it. in europe, the spanish (or italian) entire soccer league had to be shut down due to the players gambling.
My point? look its an extremely complicated issue.... but don't be so naive as to think this legislation is going away any time soon. The head of the PPA D'mato is a known degenerate and one of my good friends was his political aide for many years and the stories I could tell you about this guy are endless.. and if I know, so do ppl in washington. the PPA is going nowhere fast. The U.S. government has a vested interest in monitoring gambling for a variety of reasons most notably proper taxation and previous control by organized crime. anyways thats my 2 cents... ps. the only reason im even writing to this thread is that instead of a good debate on the updated status of the OP it degenerated into the religious bashing that it did. let the mockers come out to mock and those with clear minds write it contrast/support |

so you are referencing somehting you know nothing about, and are completely wrong.
to educate you: 1. no league was shut down a. it was italy 2. players were not gambling a. it was based upon the choosing of referees that was still a huge scandal and the biggest team in Italy, Juventus (one of the most stacked teams in the world) got demoted. But that is a far far cry from a top three league being shut down for players gambling. |

[/ QUOTE ] The problem is all of the general public (read: fish) THINK it's illegal and even if they understand the legal aspects of it they still can't easily deposit money. It dries up the games. If only us forums nerds know how to deposit and most of us play at least decent, where does the profit come from? |
