Don't I gain more from not raising the flop? If I'm beat now I might get reraised. By just calling I can keep the pot small and hope to hit against a better hand. I guess what I'm saying is I think that my implied odds on later streets is worth more money than the money I gain from raising now.

[/ QUOTE ] The only better hand out there is 8s full, against which you're drawing dead to runner runner assuming the other guy has the other 5. Raise the flop and find out where you are - if called in both spots you can usually shut down because you would expect someone to be on the overfull, although sometimes people will be exceptionally stubborn and play wraps, though you should usually have a good enough read to say whether any of the other guys in there are bad enough to do that here. You don't have implied odds, you have reverse implied odds here. |

i just like jamming the flop here to get bad players to think their A5xx is good. i think its very transparent to slowcall flop and raise turn. your hand is also vulnerable, protect it.

with 3 thinking players in the pot you have to worry about 88xx. If one of them could be in here with a draw though (and UTG doesn't look very strong) I would probably pop the flop, and as played raise the turn but fold if BB open shoved the river.
