Okay, some background, my girlfriend and I are talking about stocks because it's the hot trendy thing where I am. So she mentions how she has a few crappy overvalued stocks and she is waiting for them to go back to her purchase price before selling.
I ask her, "But if they are crappy and overvalued, why not sell them now when the market is hot?" She says, "But then I would take a loss!" I say, "But what does that matter? If you think they are worth $20 and the market is offering to buy them from you at $40, why wouldn't you?" She looks at me like I am an alien and says that I don't know how to buy stocks. So the is with me. Then I ask her about the scenario above with some guy offering to buy at $40 when the market is trading at $20. She says she still wouldn't sell because it would be taking a loss, she'd wait until it got back to $100. So I say, "WTF? That's stupid, no one would do that!" So she says, "O RLY? Everyone would do that!" I say, "Let's put it to a vote then!" She says, "Sure!" Now she angleshoots me by saying OOT isn't representative, what's my next move OOT |
