It seems to me like one possibility that a suit is being threatened is simply to try to get everyone to stop voicing their opinions. if he can sue one person, he can sue anyone :O!

[/ QUOTE ]

you'll note that I've also never voiced a public opinion on whether Mark Seif cheated, because, frankly, I don't know and I don't want to become an authoritative voice on a subject I haven't seen any evidence of. that said, if he somehow sued me, it'd be the only situation I can think of in the history of the world where I'd be comfortable representing myself, because the suit would stop dead right after he saw what I asked for in discovery.

no, seriously, is anyone scared of getting sued here? c'mon.

being scared of being sued and being mindful of the possibility are two different things.

So, should his new nickname be El Chupacabra, AKA the goat-sucker? (sorry, Gary)

The probability of Seif following through on his thinly veiled threats are slim, very slim.

I see saber rattling like this all the time from the executives of penny stock scams.

They never follow through, mainly because the accusations are accurate, and when they do they are nearly uniformly laughed out of court.

That's pretty much how it comes off to me too. Seif has no real defense here and he knows it, so now he's just making his empty, baseless little threats in pseudo-legalize (as if he's ever suing anyone). Also, since Seif wants to put his attorney hat on, one of the defenses to slander and libel is if the statements in question were actually true...

This guy comes off more and more pathetic every day, and it's only getting worse. I don't know if it's going to ever be shown that he's a thief or participated in the cheating in some way, but he's already been shown to be a scumbag liar and that's good enough for me. Zero credibility.
