Tough hand in my bar league last night. We all start with a pretty small stack, 24BB. UTG I limp 55, 3 or 4 other limpers. Flop comes A52. What I always pray to the poker goddess (I think her name is Shania - or is that her sister?) for is to hit my set with an ace so that someone can feel like they have the lead. I check looking for a bet from an ace squatter. All check. Crap! Turn is A. I bet 2BB to get a raise from someone. Guy on my left calls, all else fold. River was a whatever. I put in my whole stack feeling huge with my boat. Guy on left insta-calls. I proudly show 555AA. He says "Nice hand. This is a nice hand too," and shows AAAA. Yup, he had pocket aces and slow played them. I was doomed from the start.
