NE offense > INDY offense It's close, Pats looked impressive against one of the best D's in the NFL, Colts looked impressive against a mediocre D, and it was close before. Eh.. Fine. NE defense > Indy Defense NE SPT > Indy NE kicker < Indy Nah. See: Kickoffs. NE coach > Indy Indy has home field < NE is pissed off at the universe NE being pissed off at the universe isn't worth 3 points. Advantage NE [/ QUOTE ] |

NE kicker < Indy Nah. See: Kickoffs. [/ QUOTE ] Average Kickoff length/ Touchback % / average return against: (not including todays games) Vinatieri: 67.6 / 18% / 25.8 Gostkowski: 67.1 / 19% / 23.1 If you want to argue that Gostkowski is better than Vinatieri, using kickoffs isn't a very good way to go about it. |

I just thought this, I think it would be awesome if the game ended in a tie and both teams end up going undeafted for the season.

Oh, right. Park effects. Point unconceded. Clearly, reliance on FO metrics is a good idea.

[/ QUOTE ] I was going to post them (Pats are far superior) but then I realized they include kick coverage units. So we can't really use that. But considering how close they are in raw kickoff yardage, I would imagine that Gostkowski is better when you adjust for stadium. I do know that Gostkowski was better last year, but I don't have the numbers this year. Maybe they're in the premium database somewhere but I don't have that. |

The Pats are just too good all the way around. IMO, they have no weaknesses. Brady and Moss are both on their way to record-breaking seasons, and Belicheck is a genius. They can't be stopped
That said, the Colts are obviously excellent and are very, very good offensively. Manning is one of the best quarterbacks ever. However, I think the difference in this game will be the Patriots defense. Both teams are excellent offensively, the Patriots being better, IMO. But I think it will come down to the fact that the Pats D will be better at stopping Indy than Indy's D will be at stopping NE. |
