Sorry to hijack this thread just, for a sec, but where do you go to get an MRI on your back. I'm 25, and have lower back pain, which keeps me from doing free weight squats, deadlifts, or bent-over rows. I can actually do the exercise, but I am in some pain during the exercise and the next day, and I do execute good form. I don't know what the problem is with my lower back, but I would love to get the situation resolved so I can do these lifts without any pain, not only for weightlifting, but for life..... Thanks

[/ QUOTE ] I've never had an MRI, but I think the process typically goes something like this: 1. Doctor refers you to a specialist. 2. Specialist requests an MRI. 3. Technician administers MRI. 4. Specialist interprets MRI. I could be wrong. I suspect I could find out, if I were truly curious. A poor option, but clearly available would be: "google: where do you get an MRI?" I'm reminded of our earlier conversation about HGH-- and I'm more convinced that you should avoid rather than seek out that stuff. |

You don't just go get an MRI, you go see a doctor about your back pain and he decides if you need an MRI.
99% of the time you'll get an XRay first because they're so much faster and cheaper and the docs want to see if they can tell what's wrong just from that. To get an MRI on most insurance plans requires an approval of necessity which requires a specialist. |
