I think that this is the least used, most underrated, and most rarely discussed aspect to success at NL. Table image is gold. Why do you think after 5 failed cont. bets in a row the table starts paying off your monsters? I think creative and needling banter, even online, can have huge rewards over a long session.

Not only that Quark, but you have no meta game expectation if people aren't paying attention. I want to know who is and who isn't. Obviously if people don't respond, but are playing back at me, then I know their paying attention as well. But effective LAG play and chat is essential imo.

Good post. To say we missed all of this is a bit absurd however. If this is what you wanted to say...well, this was the best way to say it. Rather than saying that you won 200PTBB/100 and think half of that is sustainable given that you have had success at higher limits and after coming down, you realize that its all cake because you have grown so much as a player. Doesn't matter how much you have grown to be honest...there are limitations over the long run, no matter how good you are, or how bad your opponents are.

I suggest copy-paste this last post into the main post...and help a lot of people become better players.

5) I'm not folding to a re-raise. Why? Like the 86 hand you mentioned, this would be a really BAD fold. If I'm going to raise a hand like that OOP, and someone re-raises me in position, I have to call if I want to continue to apply the pressure to my opponents. If I fold, I'm saying - go ahead and come over the top of me and I'll fold. By calling, even if I don't like it, I'm continuing to keep them guessing because they have nearly NO idea what I'm calling with. If I happen to hit two pair on that flop or something, I'm likely stacking off against his over pair.

I'm curious about this item. You're main point is you are trying to induce them to bet at you. Wouldn't laying down to a reraise also do this? Wouldn't this encourage them to come over the top at you more?

Nobody is doubting your play. I have read your other posts and the reason I said what I did is becuase this post seemed (to me at least) out of character. I have moved down at times and I agree that it was eye opening how much better a player I was than the average NL $25er.

Now that I understand the intent of your OP, I will take back my harsh words as I obviously took your meaning in a much different manner. I will say that much of what you said will not be of much use to those players still getting their feet wet at NL $25. A new player trying to play a LAG style is highly likely to bust out.

I was serious about posting your stats (not a graph) from your 18PTBB/100 NL$25 experience. I do believe that the two pages or so of PT stats from a winning player would be very helpful and serve to encourage many here who are playing NL$25 as their bread and butter. I was already playing NL $100 when I purchased PT so I don't have anything at NL $25 or NL $50.

Yeesh, being TAG is so much easier than being LAG...Can you effectively 8-10 table doing all these things? I would think its a nightmare. No doubt you will possess many skills that I will never tap into, but I think I'm comfortable with that.

Dude, 3800 hands isn't [censored]. Show me 100K hands and I'll show you "MAYBE SUSTAINABLE." 50K hands is still, in many aspects, the "short run" for a swingy game like NLHE. Don't believe me? Go ask Q-Tip in the SSHE forum -- he's seen it in person, via limit hold'em, a game with somewhat smaller variance.

Limit hold'em does not have smaller variance than NL. quite the opposite.
