Just curious, now that ND is done losing to mediocre teams, how will they fare against the other bottom dwellers?
Air Force, Navy, Duke, and Stanford are up. They get Stanford on the road, which isn't good, since the Cardinal are likely the best of the three. I think AF, Navy and Duke might be a pickem. |

Quality post OP, I share your sentiments. Can you or anyone else think of a good site which has commentary on ND recruiting efforts/successes? My own searches have been fruitless so far.

"is there any other explanation other than coaching on how a team can completely lose it in the second half of every single game?"
There are maybe 20 teams in the country that aren't losing >5 games with UW's schedule thus far. I'm impressed with the ND fans ability to revisionize THEMSELVES. BigDaddy hasn't said anything good about Weis this year? ND fans were saying the the team wasn't that bad!! When you predict 7+ wins in a "down" year you are claiming that you're in the USC/UF/OSU tier of programs. |

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't really followed the whole thread, but this comment is sort of out there. You don't have to be an elite program to expect 7 wins in a down year. Tx A&M, Miami, Tennessee, heck even Iowa will all probably get to 7 wins this year. There is no reason for a program like ND to have a losing record more than once every ten years or so. It's not like 7 wins is an outrageous goal. |

FWIW, I found last season much more disappointing and frustrating on the whole than this season has been so far. Last year we had genuine expectations that we didn't get near fulfilling. This year was always going to be a disaster.
Looking back at some of the preseason talk and predictions is lol. And, while there is positive talk about this years recruiting class - next year will probably be terrible aswell. |

[/ QUOTE ] Do we want to amend the record on the Let's-Lock-Up-Weis-Until-2016 thing, too? And there's still that recurring thing about how Weis is somehow minimally responsible for being 1-7 and a home dog to Navy. |

At the time it seemed like a really good idea. Right now that contract seems like a less than stellar plan, but there is no way for anyone to have known this would happen. It sucks, but I still have faith that he can figure this out, I don't think it's irrational to assume that he is a good enough coach to do figure this out right this ship a little bit. |
