[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] and it's not a pretty picture to see a team that was fairly recently 1-15 who was treated with this basic respect now refusing that respect to others. [/ QUOTE ] well as I said above, I think this has happened exactly in 1 game. also, lets not act like this hasn't before TO the Patriots. how about the Chargers/Pats game in 2005, when the Chargers won 41-17? a guy runs back an interception 41 yards for a TD with 1:07 to go - is that really necessary? I mean he had 41 yards to fall down, and the game is over if he does. [/ QUOTE ] I can see why a guy might be excited to run one back, it's not like defensive players get to score every game, but yeah, douche move. Is "He started it" viable now? Cody |

Is "He started it" viable now? [/ QUOTE ] no, but let's not pretend that the Pats are the only team who has ever run up the score. it happens all the time, it's just not publicized. all of these teams are just as evil and disrespectful as the Pats. |

last week the Giants were up by 2 TD's, and ran in another TD with 3 minutes left. WTF??
2 weeks ago the Chargers were up by 38 points and scored another TD in the 4th. WTF? also 2 weeks, the Redskins were up 24 points and Carlos Rogers ran back a TD 61 yards with 45 seconds left. WTF?? 3 weeks ago, the Raiders were winning by 11 points with 23 seconds left and ran in for another TD. WTF??? want me to go on? this stuff goes on all the time, let's not pretend the Pats are especially evil. |

stupidity is rampant in this thread nice post pudge [/ QUOTE ] Right on both accounts, even if I'm partaking in the stupidity. Pudge, I can't dislike Simmons because I started reading him at his best and he's a Boston guy, but I completely agree with you on his last article. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 10% DVOA isn't a gap? [/ QUOTE ] Pats have played one more game than the Colts. [/ QUOTE ] Does that matter? I'm asking seriously because I don't know. I was under the impression the totals were averages, not cumulative. [ QUOTE ] Plus, all the awe over the Pats is their offense. The Colts have a higher offensive DVOA despite playing 1 fewer game. In fact, the Colts have the second highest offensive DVOA after 6 weeks ever (keep in mind that DVOA only started in 1996). [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you here. The Colts offense > Pats offense right now, and there has been a lot of hype about how amazing the Pats' offense is. But it's not as large of a gap as the difference between their defenses. |

DVOA is not cumulative.
I still don't understand how the Pats ran up the score. If they'd tried to pass it I'd understand. |
