Just came from a home game...yes I failed to make the money twice....sigh

Anyhow...Copags were the cards...after I busted out I began to deal....

Not a big fan of the cards...seemed VERY flimsy and slick...

Are Kems as good as they once were since being bought out by US Playing Card? I'm leaning towards Dal Negro and Modiano, but I'm gonna give the Desjgn a shot too...

The local casino uses Gemaco, I love the feel but the pips are all wearing off of the cards terribly...has anyone seen that with the Gemaco cards or are the defective seconds???

Thanks..Bossman

I have bought 4 set-ups of the new USPC KEMs and they are not the same. It isn't like night and day, but they just don't have the same texture or feel. Also, two of the 4 set-ups I bought were defective. The problem was that instead of having a consitent texture there were smooth spots on the cards that was more shiney then the rest of the card and was visable on both sides. Defective cards...well, I've got very little tolerance for that.

I think you'll be happy with Dal Negro, Modiano or Desjgn cards. All of them are better than KEM or Copag cards in my opinion.

One thing I want to mention about my comments from an earlier post. I said that the acetate Dal Negro and Modianos were the Cadillac of poker cards, and that's true, but they also carry a Cadillac price tag. Desjngs are great cards that are so easy to shuffle and deal and they cost much less.

I found some "Royal" playing cards at my school's book store. They're 100% plastic and feel very cheap, but they're only a buck a deck!! I couldn't pass 'em up. They're not horrible though, not my first choice, but I wouldn't have too many gripes if I had to use 'em.

We played with the Dal Negros tonight. Very nice cards! Unusual texture (sandpaper?) is kind of nice. Only gripe is that they seemed to be harder to pitch and would snag on the felt. A lot more exposed cards on the pitch than normal (normal for us is Desjgn, Kem, or Copag).
