Yes, I think you need the full version of Process Guard to be able to block the DLL injection.

The DLLs are injected into running processes, so it is not permanent thing, but I am not sure why the DLLs appear in the directories (maybe it is a bug, I am not sure...).

Also, the idea of the Poker Wiki seems a much easier format than forums (which have all the hand histories, off topic stuff, etc) to just be able to browse through.

Why do people think this is effective at stopping Party from detecting things? Have we seen them inject code into other processes? In the past, the way they've detected banned software is just by looking for the files on your hard drive. These SnoopFree/ Process Guard tools don't do anything to restrict that, right? They do prevent screenshots, and I can see how that is important. For the file reading isue, I suppose you could just run Party as a limited user account that didn't have read access to the directories with these tools. Has anyone tried that?

Okay, this whole line of reasoning is OT for the thread, but it has been discussed in other threads, bobbyi:
1. Party did not find other apps by looking for files on the drive. They did look in the registry and look at the currently running applications (like in the processes list when you run Task Manager.)
2. Party does inject DLL's into other running processes. We have not confirmed what the DLL's do; they may simply help manage which windows are foregrounded, but they are more likely designed to identify restricted software, and are likely culprits in making your machine (and Party) less stable.
3. Party does set global keyboard/mouse hooks on your system.

Folks: given the size, maybe it's time to lock this iWitness thread and start a fresh one?

No, it hasn't. That's why the whole .DLL issue is OT. That means "Off Topic."

Party has not made a statement about iWitness or taken any actions that I'm aware of.

Someone who was using ProcessGuard for whatever reason they chose to use ProcessGuard was having trouble using iWitness and asked about it in this thread; the rest of this branch became an off-topic discussion.

A few people asked for this, so here you go.

Select "Play & Witness" in the tray menu. You'll be prompted to select a folder - this has to be the first folder in the HandHistory folder (PartyGaming\PartyPoker\HandHistory\<your screenname&gt. We check if a hh file exists and if it was modified less then 5 minutes ago we leave the table alone.

Note that the hand histories start to get written to hard drive only after the first hand is over, so this is not 100% safe.
Also, it's probably best to turn this off when you're not playing.

Had iWitness working great, but when I checked on it the next day party had disconected me for being inactive. I closed party and logid back in, but iWitness is not opening any tables. Did party find some way to block pary?

No blocking. If you tried re-starting iWitness, you'd see that it still works fine. This software is new, so there are still bugs; it probably didn't find the new running instance of Party after you closed the first one that it was working with.

They could work harder at making this project great if people would donate a few dollars. It's embarassing how few people have contributed, compared to the number of people that have downloaded.
