LOL. I forgot to report about that! There was a convention, valet was full. And yes, my face was red.

So I parked on the 5th floor and walked precisely 608 steps from the mall entrance to the Casino entrance.

And yes, I counted.

THANK YOU! I am now no longer the only person on the planet who has counted my paces from car to poker room in Las Vegas!

Someone was making fun of me at the poker table a few days ago when I mentioned this. But really... if you're walking alone what ELSE do you have to do? Why not count paces?

608 paces at 3' per pace is .34 miles each way. Rivels MGM. But since I don't think it's as far from the Planet garage to the poker room as from the MGM garage to the poker room, I suspect TT must take slightly smaller steps than I.

The GNU units command claims "pace" is 2.5'. In that case, .29 miles.

Havn't read the whole thread but I think those who like the big and loud atmosphere versus those who don't like it(while playing poker I"m talking about) really shows the age difference amonst posters. For example, most older players hate MGM's atmosphere while younger guys love it.

I don't recall my exact counts. It was maybe 640 paces in MGM, 440 at Caesars, like 200 at Harrah's. And I don't do this ALL the time, nor have I counted at every room I've played. I perhaps do have some OC tendancies, but they aren't THAT pronounced. But I have also gotten out Google Earth and used the path measurement tool to trace out paths from garage to poker room in those casinos where I know where each is. That basically agreed with my pace-count estimates of distance.

This was from your car or valet? If from your car, variance would be huge. Also, valet at Caesars is considerably closer than the self-park, and seems to be available most of the time. Whereas MGM valet is usually full. I remember when MGM first opened. I visited like on their 3rd day, before the Grand Opening, and they were running trams from the parking garage to the hotel. Guess that idea got old in a hurry.

Harrah's didn't seem that far. I thought it was one of the shortest walks, besides Wynn.
