I haven't read others replies, but when I see
[ QUOTE ] "The details in this hand are crucial. Please read it twice, and think about it carefully before posting." [/ QUOTE ] I like this post already... 1. About the players. UTG: wealthy, likes to bluff, tricky, overvalues reads. competent and thinking. (LOOSE) BB : not rich, satellited into this event, beer, football =(no experience in 10K event), nice=flexible with ruling/arguments. (TIGHT,STRAIGHTFORWARD) Hero: young Internet kid with good image/reputation. (LOOSE pf but tight/aggressive post-flop) 2. The hand, early stage in a deep stack, high buy-in tourney. PF: UTG limps 100, Hero (SB) calls with 88, BB raises to 600. Call/Call. READ: According to your description when he raises, BB plays "Hollywood" with big hands, satellite player in 10K doesnt mess around from BB in nothing pot. BB has a big PP. JJ+. UTG makes a loose call, SB looks for set. Flop: AhKd8s Pot 1800, 3-way. check around. (READ: BB either has QQ,JJ or AA,KK, maybe AK but questionable from the size of PF raise) Turn: Ts (board AhKd8sTs, there is a potential flush draw, straightdraw, big hands will expose now) Hero (SB) bets 1300, BB throws in 5k and 1k then says "call". READ: BB originally wanted to just call with 1k and 500 chip but picked the wrong chip. But, he's OK with the ruling means when he realized wrong chips and then said "call", naturally, he didn't want you guys to fold but he's OK with taking the pot down. He never has QQ/JJ. Conclusion, He has a big set(AA/KK) 80% or AK 20%. We only put in 2K, FOLD. (Do some "hollywood" to see his hole cards - "You show me if I fold?" or just fold 88 face up, normally, you'll get two valuable things from this) =================================== You can't call. All-in or fold. But he's not folding. Edit: Another thing, when he put in 6K chips, it's very likely he wanted to raise but then debating whether or not to raise, finally decides to just call and announces a late "call!" - he doesn't understand the rules. Given this, he is very comfortable with this board and his hand. Small stakes players in 10K events want life change money, he's so confident and so OK with the ruling, bottom set is no good. |
