I think the prob is that she is italien. This is very characteristic of that ethnicity. I'm irish-american but not a huge drinker- but i'm definitely irish in other traits, personality, etc... You are taking an awful lot from this lady, regardless of 3 years into it...you can't look at time invested vs. time soon to be wasted. I think you can do better- unless your ugly and are lucky to have a chic at all... -ala
