This thread is lol on so many levels.

I think these guys clearly found the right group of people to scam, nobody is going to do [censored] about it.

(note: I'm not saying I would, just saying that this community of poker pros is clearly too scared or lazy to fight back. Keep talking as though you're going to roll up on these wiggaz with an AK though.)

plus no one really wants to [censored] up their life when they make 300k+ a year

I agree with both of you, but it's not you the ridiculous threats are coming from. I actually am glad that no one has taken any violent action against this guy (these guys?). I think it shows alot of intelligence and maturity.

The funny part to me is all the idle threats.

Stevedapimp (Stevie Coleman) hacked the account of a well known FTP pro and chatted with me on the table from the pro's account, with the pro's avatar, in red type. I sent him an email, to the pro's real email address @fulltiltpoker.com and he responded and gave me his screen name. We then talked over AIM with the pro's real screen name. Over a couple days, he said he was coming to the borgata and wanted to swap real cash for online cash--I told him no problem. He had believable-enough stories for all my questions and hey--we chatted on the table in red type! All told, he got about 45k of my money before I was convinced enough something was up to call the guy. After speaking with him briefly, I immediately contacted tilt, stars and ub, the 3 sites involved.

Within 20 minutes, I had exchanged 2 emails with stars and was on the phone with them telling them the whole sordid tale. I'm fairly sure they were able to recover at least some of my money but am still waiting to hear. We exchanged frequent emails and talked on the phone several times. Stars really overperformed on this one--they contacted the other two poker sites and even contacted sports betting sites that had nothing to do with the transaction and got dapimp's accounts frozen.

Tilt responded fairly promptly and did a nice job keeping in touch with me, particularly after I sent Howard Lederer a note.

As expected, ub was beyond abysmal. It took 36 hours for me to get the, "we have forwarded your email to the appropriate department" email from them, and I just got a second email from them today, telling me that they were unable to recover any funds. This is upsetting, because I actually had a lot of information on the guy and his accounts. When I complained, UB told me that even if they had responded faster, by the time i wrote the first email all the funds were already gone. On a related matter, 4 days after my original email to them, I forwarded them information that the guy still had 25k in an account they had yet to find and freeze but again, ub appeared to ignore that missive. I have withdrawn the rest of my funds from UB and will almost certainly not play there again.

After my initial contact with the sites, I complimented stevie on his hacking job and started chatting with him. He bragged about other people he had hacked or scammed and gave me some information about his hacking setup as well as other places he had accounts. To brag, he even sent me AIM's from several of tilt's sponsored pros' AIM screen names. Of course, I immediately passed all the information on to stars and tilt (I'm still hoping ub will forward it to the appropriate department) and from what I understand, this information was actually useful. I understand this because Stevie began sending me death threats and telling me how I “f***ed” him a few hours after my conversation with him (which had actually ended rather gentlemanly, with him complimenting my limit hold ‘em game and me complimenting his hacking abilities and general proficiency at scumminess). He even called my cell phone to threaten me.

Anyhow, I'm expecting to hear about getting money back any day now and will post an update when I do.

Matt
