[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] One of the owners (runner-up in last year's league), drops Marques Colston, a guy ranked as the 19th best WR in the league. Who does he pick up? John Broussard. Who? Yeah, I had to look him up too. He's listed as the 141st best WR in the league. Then, he drops Broussard after one week (never even bothered playing him). Of course, everyone else in the league scrambled to pick up Colston off of waivers (I didn't get him though). [/ QUOTE ] This looks a lot more like collusion then being stupid. [/ QUOTE ] Collusion went through my mind also. But the only guy who's been picked up so far is Colston. And the guy who picked up Colston does not like the guy who dropped him (it's a league with a bunch of former co-workers and those two never got along.) I honestly think that the Colston dropper just has no clue. I'd say that he has favorite players, but seriously, who's favorite player is John Broussard? And here's the weird thing. In double checking my recap, he didn't pick up Colston from the waiver wire. He was a free agent. The first owner dropped him after the wavier period was over, so he was up for grabs. For some reason, I never bothered looking last week. |

[/ QUOTE ] FTR: Here are this guys moves, in chronological order: Draft: Picked up 1 QB, 8 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 1 K, 1 Def so he has too many RBs and not enough WRs. 9/12: Dropped: Jamal Lewis (RB) Fred Taylor (RB) LJ Smith (TE) Deion Branch (WR) DJ Hackett (WR) 9/13: Picked up: Jake Delhomme (he only drafted 1 QB) Chris Brown (RB) Texans Defense Randle El (WR) Dropped: Deuce McAllister (RB) Lendale White (RB) Add: Shaun McDonald (WR) Justin Peelle (TE) Sam Hurd (WR) Dropped: Marques Colston (WR) Add: John Broussard (WR) 9/18: Drop: John Broussard You could say that he's getting rid of his excess RBs and getting more WRs. Except he didn't. He's ended up dropping each of the 3 WRs he drafted and now still has only 3 WRs, only each of them is worse than the worst WR he drafted. The RBs is slightly better. He got rid of 4 of them and added 1, but you could somehow make an argument that the 1 he added is sort of equivalent to one of the RBs he drafted, and he needed depth at other positions. His pickup of Peele is also inexcusable. He's the 63rd ranked TE in the league. Only 13 TEs are even taken in this league. Why reach for such a poor player? |
