I was convinced. Eugene's life sucks and the 2 million wasn't going to change a thing. Tony and his crew had him by the balls...he's 50 and not even a captain, forced to take orders from Christopher. So he's stuck in what is basically a [censored] dead-end job. The feds had him even further by the balls...if he was cooperating that means they had him on a pretty devastating charge, and with Curto's death he was going to be more and more in the spotlight with that. And his wife is just phenomenally pissy...she wasn't going to be happy with a nice house in Jersey. Plus, his kid was addicted to cocaine. It certainly wasn't going to get any better for him.

Seriously. There are three shows that do this: The Sopranos, The Wire, and 24.

Funniest line:

Older guy: "Some guys pulled up in a Lexus and jumped us"

Christopher: "You mean chinks did this?"

Also funny - Vito munching on the weiner.

Read the selection I quoted, but first take out the end of the first sentence: "and the 2 million wasn't going to change a thing." With those ten words struck, the paragraph makes sense. The only way out is the end of a rope.

Now, add $2M to the paragraph. If I'm going to abandon my job, my family, the FBI, life as I know it...a beach in Tahiti sounds much more attractive than doing the Jitterbug two feet off the ground.

I think the ep. came off fine. I don't see what more they could have done in a season opener, especially given people were bound to gripe after waiting two years. I also think there was a lot of foreshadowing in this ep. about where we can expect the season to go. Clearly some of the captains are getting increasingly ambitious/irritated. Also they told us the actual size of Johnny Sack's crew (~200 soldiers, which given all the contention with Phil seems to be hinting at an upcoming war.

Replace 24 with 24 4 years ago or LOST and I agree.

Disagree. Funniest line:

Tony: Where you been?
Agent Harris: Pakistan.
Christopher: You look like you lost some weight
Agent Harris: Caught a parasite over there. Doctors dont know what it is.

That 2 million he got was an inheritance check that he probably deposited in the bank. With the FBI holding whatever charges over his head, I highly doubt he'd be able to convert that money into cash and make a run for it. Having 2 million in a U.S. bank account in his situation is WAY different than having 2 million in cash or in an offshore account.

You left out the funniest line from that conversation:

CHRISTOPHER: [censored] him. I hope that parasite eats out his [censored].

My vote for funniest line:

MELFI: The circle of life.
TONY: The circle-jerk of life.

I only wish there was a way to vote for Bobby's railroad engineer hat. I could barely hear the dialogue in that scene, I was laughing so much at a grown man wearing that stupid hat.
