I'm beginning to question my standard play in spots like this. Villain is 31/24/5 over 30 hands.

blackize,
With his stack anything you do is going to be pretty committing. He could have a draw, a set, or top pair here. You are probably a little favorite over his range. Will he get the money in with enough of his range? Really hard to say. I see people get it in here with A8 all the time, but you don't have to discount his weaker hands a whole lot before you're in bad shape. It's not like you were a button raiser and he's putting you on crap. It's not like you've been playing him for a long time and cbetting the hell out of him. Still 31/24 doesn't look like a set miner. shrug |

re: JJ hand - 31/24/5, even over 30 hands, is enough for me to get it all in there.
you stack 99/TT, and villain could have a bunch of other stuff as well. |

Yeah I realized after I posted it that aside from folding there is basically no wrong answer. If the board is drier, say rainbow, I take it I have to try to get to showdown on the cheap?

Be gentle with me it's my first time in this thread.
Notes about me; - I was a low limit O8b winner - Kept blowing all my winnings playing HE too high - Could hold my own at the 1/2 stakes and .50/1 stakes about the same time last year. - Now I try to play the .25c/.50c full ring game and i'm getting crushed. - I have been playing SNG's for about 6 months ago in an effort to learn discipline and to build a roll comfortable enough to play cash games with. I can afford to play .25/.50 (20 buy-ins)now but what do you guys think is the best way to really curb the learning curve.(that sentence sounds weird in my head). I have PT but have never really used it extensively b4 and don't even really know how to use it effectively. Any threads on beginners for PT? Any suggestions on how to start guys? Thanks a lot |
