Default Re: DC to Atlantic City Shortcut Thread

Many casino websites say to go 95 > Walt Whitman Bridge > 42 S > AC Expressway > Poker Glory. Has anyone tried the Walt Whitman route and is it really that much longer than the AC shortcut?

95 to WW Bridge means going through Philly a bit, and that's horrible. This way has to add 30-60 minutes to the trip, no?

No, surprisingly, unless there's a construction delay or something, I make it from AC to Baltimore (and vice versa) in about the same time using the WWB as the usual route. The main reason being that the traffic moves on 95 near Philly really well compared to the slight slowdowns around the Del Mem Bridge toll booths (even if you have EZPass). You don't really go into Philly; you just are on the highway right next to it. As a bonus, you get a nice view of the skyline.

I'm going to do some direct timed comparisons now that beach traffic season has passed, but it must be at least as fast because in the past, I've made it from Baltimore to AC in less than 2.5 hours using the WWB.
